Robert J. SawyerThere is no indisputable proof for the big bang, " said Hollus. "And there is none for evolution. And yet you accept those. Why hold the question of whether there is a creator to a higher standard?
About This Quote
As a child, I was taught that the universe was created by a Big Bang. I’m not sure where I learned this, but it stuck with me. After all, it’s easy to accept something if someone else already believes it’s true. It’s even easier if they’re special, like scientists who write books and make movies. But what if others do not accept the Big Bang? What about those who reject evolution? How can I understand their position? And how does my acceptance of the Big Bang and evolution help anyone else? When I try to reason with people who don’t accept big bang or evolution, it only makes me feel like I’m at a loss.
